Burning out – a popular term nowadays. If you ask your parents or grandparents, what do they think about professional burning out – they won’t probably understand you. As the previous generation of people had been working hard to survive and had no time to think about themselves. Nowadays, we are more considerate of the work-life balance, and try to have enough time to live, rest and work productively.

There are a lot of reasons to work overtime, like deadlines, unpredictable bugs on the project, situations when you didn’t work enough during the whole period and want to do everything at the last moment. The last issue should be very familiar for students, especially from eastern Europe and the post-Soviet Union. That is really common to learn everything during the last night before the exam.
Everything, listed above, can become a reason for a huge problem – professional burning out. The moment when you have no desire to do anything. When your main and only desire is to lie in a bed, eat, watch TV shows, and to change the profession. That is why it is extremely important to prevent burning out, there are few tips on doing that:
• Separate the work and personal life. There are 24 hours a day, make a schedule, and have a space for work, personal life, parties, relaxation, and of course, enough time to sleep. Important is – stop working when you step away from the office, or in case of working from home – when working time is over, turn off the laptop and go out.
• Take breaks during the working day. There is a practice in Google – manager comes to team members to say that the person is at the desk for too long, and it is a perfect time to go for coffee, or to play video games, etc. The success of Google may say that this practice is a really good one.
• Make a relax zone for yourself. Book a conference room in the office, turn on the nature sounds, do some yoga, or just lie down on the floor, trust me after 10 minutes you will be a different person.
• Start the morning nicely. We always see in the movies those rush mornings, where coffee had been drinking on the way to the car, and everything is going out of control. Try to think the other way around. Wake up, open the curtains and see the Sun, or rain, who cares what the weather is today. And only now you can go to work.
